In the Shadow of the Gods

A full-length classical Bharatanatyam solo performance that takes the audience on a journey from the traditional classical pieces that have been performed for centuries, telling stories of gods and goddesses from the Hindu mythology, to the new work Revanta has been creating, staying within the classical framework of Bharatanatyam yet telling modern day stories on subjects such as casteism, climate change, and long distance relationships.

“Chennai got to see the dashing, third-generation Sarabhai dance... one felt a sense of déjà vu seeing those beautiful, big eyes that he has inherited from his mother, dancer and social activist Mallika Sarabhai. With his lanky frame, expressive eyes and film star looks, Revanta has an undeniable presence on stage.”

— The Hindu

“Revanta Sarabhai held the audience hostage with his riveting performance...”

— Times Of India

“...with his elegant hand movements and expressive eyes, it is clear that Revanta was born to dance”
